Employment Community of Practice: Foundation for Employment and Housing Convening
October 18-19, 2017
Washington, D.C.

We are launching our second Community of Practice, Foundations for Employment and Housing to explore the connection between employment and homelessness and philanthropy's role. This Community of Practice will allow funders to build strong relationships with peers doing this work across the country. Funders like Building Changes, McGregor Fund, Melville Charitable Trust, Paul and Phyllis Fireman Charitable Foundation, and others are already signed on to learn about best practices and innovation around employment and its connection to housing stability. After creating a shared knowledge, participants will identify ways to move this work forward through policy and practice.

The official kick off for the community is in October with its first convening in Washington, D.C. held in conjunction with Heartland Alliance's Connections Project update. Preference for the limited seating at this event will be given to members of the Foundations for Employment and Housing Community of PracticeIf you are interested but unable to commit to the community at this time please contact Jennifer Olney at jennifer@funderstogether.org.

Enrollment for the community is now open! Don't miss out as spots are limited and enrollment will close once we reach capacity.

Coming Soon: Advocacy Update - What's Next For the Federal Budget?

As the end of the fiscal year draws nearer, we are keeping a close eye on what is happening with the Federal budget and what that means for homelessness. Congress will be meeting about the Federal budget again soon, and once we have more information, we will share what we know and what effect that will have on philanthropy's efforts in the movement to prevent and end homelessness. Keep an eye on your emails and the event page for a date and time!
