Co-Sponsored by Grantmakers for Thriving Youth
Too often, workshops on youth leadership in homelessness organizations start from the premise that philanthropy, governments, or nonprofits set the table first—inviting young people in later with limited power. What if funders instead fully backed youth-led grassroots organizing for housing justice and the issues young people prioritize themselves?
Youth and young adults are politically activated worldwide, many entering movement work through elections or campus protests. Supporting youth organizing has always been wise, but today it is both a strategic and moral imperative. This webinar will feature analysis from the Funders’ Collaborative on Youth Organizing, followed by Our Time to Act, to situate youth organizing within housing justice. Together, we’ll explore how philanthropy can reorient to back young people shaping the world they will inherit.
