COVID-19 Safety Protocol

Because we are sharing space with the
Innovations & Solutions for Ending Unsheltered Homelessness Conference, Funders Together will follow the National Alliance to End Homelessness’ COVID-19 safety protocols, which includes a requirement to provide proof of being up to date on all vaccinations for COVID-19 prior to admittance to the conference venue. Allowances will made for documented medical or religious exemptions, following NAEH’s protocol as seen here.

Read NAEH’s 2023 Conference Safety Plan for more information.

Vaccination Requirements

This includes being vaccinated with all recommended doses in the primary series and one booster. All registrants, whether opting for joint registration or just Funders Forum registration, will be required to upload their vaccination records to Crowdpass, the Alliance’s platform for COVID-19 clearance. This must be completed in order to gain entry to both the Funders Forum and NAEH conference.

Masking

  • Funders Together will require masks to be worn indoors during the Funders Forum except when actively eating or drinking. Funders Together will not require masks during outdoor gatherings.
  • Please note that in the rest of the conference hotel, masking is optional.

Testing

  • Funders Together is also requiring all Funders Forum participants to take a rapid test the morning of the event and to provide proof of their rapid test with a negative result at registration. (A photo is fine.)
  • Participants are required to acquire their own rapid test. If you forget to bring one, we will have a limited number on hand.

What Do I Need to Bring and Show on February 28?

Please bring your own mask to the Funders Forum. A high-quality mask (N95, KN95, or KN94) is preferred. When you arrive at the Funders Forum check-in table, we will ask to see two items:

  1. Your Crowdpass vaccination verification, and
  2. A photo of a rapid test taken that morning.

We will then give you your conference name badge and a red, yellow, or green sticker to place on your name badge indicating your comfort level with physical contact (red = no physical contact, yellow = handshakes and fist bumps, green = open to hugs with consent).

We joined Funders Together because we believe in the power of philanthropy to play a major role in ending homelessness, and we know we have much to learn from funders across the country.

-Christine Marge, Director of Housing and Financial Stability at United Way of Greater Los Angeles

I am thankful for the local partnerships here in the Pacific Northwest that we’ve been able to create and nurture thanks to the work of Funders Together. Having so many of the right players at the table makes our conversations – and all of our efforts – all the richer and more effective.

-David Wertheimer, Deputy Director at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Very often a lack of jobs and money is not the cause of poverty, but the symptom. The cause may lie deeper in our failure to give our fellow citizens a fair chance to develop their own capacities, in a lack of education and training, in a lack of medical care and housing, in a lack of decent communities in which to live and bring up their children.

-President Lyndon B. Johnson, 1964 State of the Union Address

Funders Together has given me a platform to engage the other funders in my community. Our local funding community has improved greatly to support housing first models and align of resources towards ending homelessness.

-Leslie Strnisha, Vice President at Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland

Our family foundation convenes local funders and key community stakeholders around strategies to end homelessness in Houston. Funders Together members have been invaluable mentors to us in this effort, traveling to our community to share their expertise and examples of best practices from around the nation.

-Nancy Frees Fountain, Managing Director at The Frees Foundation
