Funders Together to End Homelessness proudly celebrates the historic appointment of Renee M. Willis as the new President and CEO of the National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC).
Renee’s leadership comes at a pivotal time for the housing justice movement. Her deep roots in policy advocacy, racial equity work, and community-centered strategy makes her uniquely positioned to lead NLIHC into its next chapter. We are especially proud to witness this significant milestone, as Renee becomes the first Black woman to lead the organization in its 51-year history.
Renee has long been a trusted partner in our shared work, particularly through the National Coalition for Housing Justice, and a guiding force for what it means to lead with integrity, purpose, and accountability to those most impacted.
“We are thrilled to continue to work with Renee in this new role. Renee has been a true partner to Funders Together and our collective policy work through the National Coalition for Housing Justice. She has been a trusted colleague to me for many years as we both navigated deepening our organization’s commitment to racial justice and the unique toll it takes on Black women leaders. It is both significant and the truest reflection of the work we must continue to do to build inclusive and liberated organizations that Renee will be the first Black woman leader in NLIHC 50+ year history.”
— Amanda Andere, CEO, Funders Together to End Homelessness
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Renee and the entire NLIHC team as we collectively push for bold, systemic change grounded in justice and equity.
