The June 27 meeting of the Health Systems for Housing Justice network reconvened the full network to touch base on each member’s investments related to homelessness/housing and set priorities for the next six months.
During the May meeting of the full health systems network, we welcomed Funders Together’s new Director of Networks, Michael Durham, who brings nine years of experience on the intersection of homelessness and health.
During this month's meeting, Julia Dobbins from National Institute for Medical Respite Care joined us to discuss the work they are doing, as well as possible gaps for funders to invest in this impactful strategy.
2021 Network Meetings
During this month's meeting, participants will be provided some time to complete a survey to determine their placements within the working groups. We will discuss additional areas of learning and discuss our expansion into work groups in the coming year.
During this month's meeting, we completed a mapping exercise to help narrow down which areas of focus we would like to engage in as a network.
During this month's meeting, we were joined by Cheryl Winter from CSH. During our data conversation, we heard a bit about their work with the LASHA data match.
During this month's meeting, we will be joined by Jennifer Sullivan and Anna Bailey from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. They will provide some updates on policies and advocacy opportunities at the intersection of health and homelessness and housing.

During this month's meeting, we delved into the question of how health systems can apply a more strategic lens to their investments. We shared the key areas you all found missing in creating strategic investment to effectively help people experiencing homelessness.
May 2021 | How can data collection within Health Systems and across community efforts be strengthened?
During this month's meeting, we will be explored the question, " how can data collection with Health Systems and across community efforts be strengthened?" We heard from Meghan Arsenault, Senior Manager of Catalytic Projects at Community Solutions. She shared the themes and gaps they are discovering around data in the Health Care and Homelessness Pilot Initiative.
During this month's meeting, we focused on the question, "How are health systems addressing racial equity in context of their housing investments?" We engaged in a reflective exercise that explores the successes, challenges, and opportunities for health systems to advance racial equity.
During this month's meeting, we reviewed the themes we found during our conversations with members of the network. Participants were able to prioritize the questions they would be focusing on in the coming months as a group.
We held our virtual convening over two days (January 25-26). During this time, we kicked off our network with quick introductions and set the table for the work ahead. Community Solutions presented their upcoming pilot, The Health Care and Homelessness Pilot Initiative. Participants were able to engage in conversation about possible things they would like to learn as this pilot develops. Additionally, participants engaged in discussion around advocacy and policy efforts at this intersection.
