The decennial census may still be four years away, but its effectiveness in capturing accurate data that inform life-sustaining programs is already under threat. The minds behind Project 2025 mean to undermine it for their interests. Housing justice advocates and their philanthropic partners must organize immediately to ensure a comprehensive and accurate census to block threats to housing justice via a politicized census. Join this conversation with a Pennsylvania member, HeathSpark Foundation, and their community partner, ACLAMO, who are doing just that. Using their model as a springboard for conversation, we’ll invite all funder attendees to share about their own census-related interventions and invite others to start their own.
Objectives
- Describe what’s at stake in the 2030 census as it relates to housing and homelessness programs
- Connect the dots to broader advocacy efforts to protect democracy
- Showcase examples of philanthropy’s leadership in census organizing
