Webinar: Medicaid’s Role in Preventing & Ending Homelessness

September 3, 2025 | 2:00pm ET, 1:00pm CT, 12:00pm MT, 11:00am PT

While it was never the pathway to ensuring health care as a human right, Medicaid saves lives. Millions would be homeless if it were not for the services Medicaid supports, and many who experience homelessness rely on it to survive. But the federal government has drastically threatened Medicaid’s impact by essentially defunding the program and creating harmful provisions for those who utilize it.

Join Grantmakers In Health and Funders Together for Housing Justice for this timely discussion on how Medicaid prevents and helps to end homelessness, the status of federal funding for Medicaid, what state-level opportunities exist for organizing, and what philanthropy can do to mitigate harms of defunding this crucial component of the social safety net.
