Co-Sponsor: Fund for Housing and Opportunity
January 30, 2025 | 12pm ET | 11am CT | 10am MT | 9am PT
In response to the federal administration’s sudden freeze on all federal financial assistance, Funders Together to End Homelessness and the Fund for Housing and Opportunity are convening a rapid response call to provide space for funders and members to connect, share how your foundation is responding, and strategize around how to support grantees now and as we continue to navigate federal actions that impact housing justice efforts.
Among other concerning executive orders, this freeze will have devastating consequences for programs that provide rental assistance, homelessness services, food aid, and healthcare—leaving seniors, families, and individuals without critical support. Marginalized communities, including Black and Indigenous people, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, disabled people, immigrants, and low-income families, will be most impacted.
This call will provide space for funders and members to share:
- Open Dialogue around emerging questions, and immediate concerns, as well as how your foundation is (or is not) responding
- Collective Insights about what you're hearing from grantees and other partners
- Opportunities for philanthropic collaboration and/or action
As we continue to move through an environment with constant threats on our collective justice efforts, we must ground ourselves in moments for solidarity, information sharing, and shared problem-solving. Join us to engage in conversation, listen deeply, and work together to respond thoughtfully and effectively to this unprecedented action and prepare for what may come next.
