Co-Sponsor: Fund for Housing and Opportunity
July 30, 2025 | 1:00pm ET, 12:00pm CT, 11:00am MT, 10:00am PT
On Thursday, July 24th, the White House issued an executive order that continues the Trump Administration’s dangerous push to criminalize unhoused people and forcefully relocate them to detention camps. This Executive Order will:
- Expand the use of law enforcement and institutionalization to respond to homelessness
- Prioritize funding for states that criminalize homelessness and eliminate housing-based solutions
- Cut off funding for life-saving programs like harm reduction.
The potential damage of this policy cannot be overstated. But we are not powerless.
Join this rapid-response funder call to hear analysis of the implications and limitations of this Executive Order and what philanthropy is best positioned to do to support the homelessness services field and people who are unhoused in the near term, even as we hold fast to our long-term commitment to upend oppressive systems altogether.
Note that this call will not be recorded for security purposes and to ensure open conversation.
