Webinar: Ending Homelessness Means Ending Urban Native Homelessness

We know that people of color face disproportionate levels of homelessness. In some areas, like Seattle, WA, American Indians/Alaska Natives (AI/AN) are seven times more likely to experience homelessness than their white counterparts. Moreover, American Indians/Alaska Natives are least likely to be referred to housing and least likely to be accepted to housing when referred.

During this webinar, we’ll share how the Coalition to End Urban Native Homelessness is partnering with nonprofit and Native organizations, government agencies, tribal leaders, and philanthropic partners to drive long-term systems change. Ending urban Native homelessness requires a culturally competent, collaborative approach, and this webinar will explore how AI/Ans have historically been undercounted and under-resourced, and what funders can do to support ending urban Native homelessness.

This webinar is a continuation of the conversation Colleen Echohawk led at our 2019 Funders Institute on July 22, but this webinar is open to all private funders, United Ways, and PSOs regardless of participation in the Funders Institute.
