Welcoming Maegan Scott and Jessica Venegas: Funders Together for Housing Justice Interim Co-CEOs

On the heels of the leadership transition announcement—and as we begin our next chapter as Funders Together for Housing Justice—the board and staff engaged in transition planning centered on our mission, values, and community. From that process emerged an interim leadership structure grounded in stability, strategy, and solidarity.

We are thrilled to welcome Maegan Scott and Jessica Venegas as Interim Co-CEOs of Funders Together.

Together, they will guide Funders Together through this moment with care and clarity, sustaining momentum for our programming and network while supporting staff, members, and partners during this season of change.

Meet Maegan Scott

“Philanthropy must move beyond responsive grantmaking toward true accountability, co-creation, and repair. This moment demands boldness, imagination, and solidarity. We must use our resources, relationships, and power to help build a world where everyone can live with safety, joy, and self-determination.” — Maegan Scott

Maegan is an organizational development strategist, equity practitioner, and founder of Wayfinding Partners. With over 20 years of experience across philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, and coaching, Maegan is committed to racial equity, systems change, and liberatory practice.

Her work blends organization development, critical race theory, and healing practices to support individuals and institutions in aligning values with action. She has consulted and facilitated nationally and internationally, including with philanthropic leaders and mission-driven organizations across sectors.

Maegan holds degrees from American University and Pepperdine University and is also a Reiki practitioner. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her three beloved cats and recharges through travel, plant care, and old movies.

Meet Jessica Venegas

“When everything around us is moving to divide us, we must stand firm, be clear-eyed, and be in lockstep with each other about who is most at risk when we don’t fight for housing justice. Funders Together gives us the opportunity to be in community with explicit values and unapologetic boldness.” — Jessica Venegas

Jessica brings over 25 years of experience in housing, community development, and fundraising. She began her career in direct service—working in affordable housing, public schools, and neighborhood organizing—before pivoting to systems change efforts around homelessness and racial justice.

Most recently, she served as a founding team member at Community Solutions, leading strategic partnerships and fundraising to support community-based efforts to end homelessness.

She lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband Jeff and is a proud bonus mom to Atticus and Lucca.

If you’d like to schedule time with Maegan and Jessica, please let them know.

At Funders Together, we move forward from a place of abundance, not scarcity. Amanda and Stephanie have laid a foundation for bold, principled work—and Maegan and Jessica will carry that momentum forward alongside our deeply committed staff and board as we bring in new leadership to hold the future work at hand.

We hope you’ll join us in thanking Amanda and Stephanie for their legacy, welcoming Maegan and Jessica to their new roles, and recommitting to this journey for justice, together.
