We are excited to welcome our newest board member, Kollin Min!

At Funders Together, we are grateful to have a passionate, dedicated, and gifted board of directors. Through the guidance of our board members, this organization has grown and been able to work more effectively in supporting your work, as members.

We are excited to announce the addition of Kollin Min, Senior Program Officer, Pacific Northwest Initiative, at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to the Funders Together board!

Kollin is a Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for the Pacific Northwest initiative in the United States Program, where he leads the foundation’s family homelessness initiative.  Prior to joining the Foundation, he served as the Seattle/Washington State Director for Enterprise Community Partners Inc, a national non-profit housing intermediary. Kollin is an attorney with more than 10 years of experience in the non-profit, governmental, and private sectors.

He received his law degree from the University of Washington, a Master's degree in environmental policy from Lund University in Sweden and a BA in political science from Yale College.

“It is an honor to have Kollin join the Funders Together Board of Directors,” say Bill Pitkin, Funders Together Board Chair. “ His commitment to preventing and ending family homelessness is admirable and his expertise will be an incredible asset as we work towards expanding philanthropy’s impact and influence in the movement. We are thrilled to have Kollin's leadership as we support and lift up the efforts of our members across the country.”

We look forward to working with Kollin and learning from his leadership. Please help us in welcoming Kollin!

We joined Funders Together because we believe in the power of philanthropy to play a major role in ending homelessness, and we know we have much to learn from funders across the country.

-Christine Marge, Director of Housing and Financial Stability at United Way of Greater Los Angeles

I am thankful for the local partnerships here in the Pacific Northwest that we’ve been able to create and nurture thanks to the work of Funders Together. Having so many of the right players at the table makes our conversations – and all of our efforts – all the richer and more effective.

-David Wertheimer, Deputy Director at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Very often a lack of jobs and money is not the cause of poverty, but the symptom. The cause may lie deeper in our failure to give our fellow citizens a fair chance to develop their own capacities, in a lack of education and training, in a lack of medical care and housing, in a lack of decent communities in which to live and bring up their children.

-President Lyndon B. Johnson, 1964 State of the Union Address

Funders Together has given me a platform to engage the other funders in my community. Our local funding community has improved greatly to support housing first models and align of resources towards ending homelessness.

-Leslie Strnisha, Vice President at Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland

Our family foundation convenes local funders and key community stakeholders around strategies to end homelessness in Houston. Funders Together members have been invaluable mentors to us in this effort, traveling to our community to share their expertise and examples of best practices from around the nation.
