COVID-19 Protocols

General Policies

Because we are sharing space with the National Conference on Ending Homelessness, Funders Together will follow the National Alliance to End Homelessness’ COVID-19 safety protocols, which includes a requirement to provide proof of being up to date on all vaccinations for COVID-19 prior to admittance to the conference venue.

To ensure the safety of staff and attendees, Funders Together is also requiring masks to be worn indoors during our Funders Institute, except when actively eating or drinking. Masks will not be required during outdoor gatherings or meetings.

Masking
  • Funders Together will require masks to be worn indoors during the Funders Institute except when actively eating or drinking. Funders Together will not require masks during outdoor gatherings.
  • Please note that in the rest of the conference hotel, masking is optional.
NAEH Conference Registrants

If you are registering for the NAEH conference through Funders Together, we will send you the National Conference on Ending Homelessness vaccination attestation form and waiver of liability form to sign through DocuSign.

People registered for the NAEH conference will also need to bring proof of vaccination (card, photo of vaccination card, or app) to receive a wristband from a NAEH health checkpoint.

Other Questions

How many people will there be at the Funders Institute?

  • We are expecting roughly 50 people at the Funders Institute.

What else are you doing to keep participants safe?

  • Funders Together is encouraging our participants to take a rapid test before attending the Funders Institute, even if you feel well. We will have a limited number of masks and rapid tests at our registration table for those who need one.
  • We encourage participants to practice community care and consent by asking other participants whether they are comfortable with hugs or handshakes and for individuals to also enforce their boundaries if not comfortable with physical contact.

Registration

Joint registration to both the National Conference on Ending Homelessness and Funders Institute will be available through Funders Together. Funders who register for both the Funders Institute and National Conference through Funders Together will receive $50 off the registration fee for the National Conference on Ending Homelessness.

Will the Funders Institute be recorded?

We joined Funders Together because we believe in the power of philanthropy to play a major role in ending homelessness, and we know we have much to learn from funders across the country.

-Christine Marge, Director of Housing and Financial Stability at United Way of Greater Los Angeles

I am thankful for the local partnerships here in the Pacific Northwest that we’ve been able to create and nurture thanks to the work of Funders Together. Having so many of the right players at the table makes our conversations – and all of our efforts – all the richer and more effective.

-David Wertheimer, Deputy Director at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Very often a lack of jobs and money is not the cause of poverty, but the symptom. The cause may lie deeper in our failure to give our fellow citizens a fair chance to develop their own capacities, in a lack of education and training, in a lack of medical care and housing, in a lack of decent communities in which to live and bring up their children.

-President Lyndon B. Johnson, 1964 State of the Union Address

Funders Together has given me a platform to engage the other funders in my community. Our local funding community has improved greatly to support housing first models and align of resources towards ending homelessness.

-Leslie Strnisha, Vice President at Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland

Our family foundation convenes local funders and key community stakeholders around strategies to end homelessness in Houston. Funders Together members have been invaluable mentors to us in this effort, traveling to our community to share their expertise and examples of best practices from around the nation.

-Nancy Frees Fountain, Managing Director at The Frees Foundation
